01 / Why it exists
THE JACKET.
MINUS THE JACKET.
After 10,000+ video jumps, I knew exactly what I needed from a camera jacket: lift when I needed it, with less bulk the rest of the day.
The Skeleton Jacket started in 2021 as a solution to working long camera days in hot environments, where spending the entire day zipped into another layer just made the job more uncomfortable than it needed to be.
The answer was to strip the idea down to the part doing the work — the wings — and turn it into a minimal tool you can throw on when it’s time to fly.

Who is the Skeleton Jacket built for?
Camera flyers who want the lift they expect from a full camera jacket without carrying the extra layer and heat all day — or camera flyers in colder environments who want to layer normally and put the wings over the top.
Is it only for hot weather?
No. Hot-weather work is why it was created, but the stripped-down design also makes cold-weather layering easier because you can dress for the temperature first instead of stuffing layers underneath another zipped jacket.
Which wing size should I choose?
Use exit weight as the starting point: Small under 60 kg, Medium 60–80 kg, and Large 80+ kg. If you sit on a boundary or have an unusual setup, ask before ordering.
Do I need the RSL shackles?
If you don’t already have a compatible way to attach the wings to your rig, yes — select the RSL shackle option. The “without shackles” option is mainly for people who already own them or already have another suitable attachment method.
Are additional colors available?
Yes. Additional color options can be requested after I confirm your order by email. They are available at an additional cost, and I’ll confirm availability and the added price before payment.
How long does an order take?
Current production time is approximately five weeks, starting around the time payment is received. This can change with workload, so the current estimate is confirmed with your order.
How does shipping work?
Kinky Wings ships worldwide. Shipping is calculated just before dispatch, once your Skeleton Jacket is complete, so the quote reflects the actual destination and current shipping cost.
What if the fit needs a small adjustment?
Send photos or video and I can help identify what needs to change. The construction is intentionally straightforward to service, and minor corrections can usually be handled by an experienced local rigger without sending the Skeleton Jacket back internationally.
